Social Insurance Number

Hi 

I would like to know how does QBO online verifies Sin number when you are setting up new employee in payroll.

If, I put a wrong digit in a Sin number QBO will not accept that. Which is a great benefit for the users. QBO support team member told me  - when you are setting up a new employee and entering SIN ,QBO instantly check with CRA data base and thus verifies Social Insurance number for you. Is it right ? If this is the case means I do not have to reverify SIN numbers before I mail out T4'S slip.

Can anyone please verify this information and reassure me.

Thanks for reaching out here.  Welcome back!  QuickBooks Online Payroll is a dynamic feature for paying your staff and submitting remittances seamlessly.  It's vital that you're entering the correct information on the TD1 for accurate calculations.  I'll be happy to provide some insight here.

 

It's key that you verify your employee's information prior to entering them in the payroll feature to prevent any delays.  Our Development Team is up-to-date with the CRA guidelines and every effort is made to ensure we meet the criteria for all features in QuickBooks Online by having checks in place.  Here's a TD1 form overview for your reference.

Social Insurance Number

Hi, I'm trying to send a notice to all my employees that their T4 slips are ready on Workforce.  When I view the T4 slip in the administrator account, the employee's full SIN shows up.  However, when the employee views his/her T4 slip in their Workforce account, only the last 3 digits are showing up on their T4 slip.  Can this be fixed as the employees will need to download their own T4 through Workforce and their full SIN needs to show up.
