All transactions must be recorded accurately for your books to be properly balanced, @info-abalancedbo. I’m here to help ensure your WSIB calculations are accurate in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Before we proceed, could you clarify how you recorded the amount that still appears as positive? I’d like to better understand the details.
The amount of WSIB owed in QuickBooks is calculated based on the pay for the period covered by the payment. Make sure the WSIB rebate is applied correctly to the payroll tax account.
Here's how:
- Go to Taxes in QuickBooks Online.
- Select Payroll Taxes.
- Locate the green button for recording a payment, and click on the drop-down menu.
- Choose the option to mark the current WSIB premium, which QBO indicates is due, as Paid.
- A pop-up will appear with a warning stating that this action will not record a payment from your bank or update the ledger.
- Click Yes to confirm and mark it as paid.
