How do I determine who posted a post-dated payment in expense transactions? this was not posted by anyone with current access.

We've recently linked our bank account. This transaction appears as a payment to a supplier, paid by both Visa and cheque and post-dated for the end of the month. The payment also pays for previously paid invoices from last year. Have we been hacked?

Hi there,

QuickBooks is a powerful and secure program which helps you streamline your business. Rest assured, I'll be happy to help you from here.

Based on what you've described, there's a possibility that another user may have created the transaction.  You can see the changes made to your account and who made them using the Audit Log.The Audit Log tracks user login/logout activity, changes to settings, customers, suppliers, and employees.

Here are the steps on how to access the audit log:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Audit Log.
  2. Select Filter.
  3. Use the fields on the Filter panel to choose the appropriate UserDate, or Events filter to narrow the results.
  4. Select Apply.

Give this a try and if you need further assistance, I recommend contacting our support team using this link. Otherwise, feel free to leave a comment below, I'll be on standby.
