Using forms RC59 and RC59X for T1 module

About the Updated Forms

Forms RC59 and RC59X were updated in ProFile release 2018.3.0 to allow electronic approval of two services: authorization to access client information via online, phone, and mail methods, and the cancellation of existing client access, respectively.

Both services were previously available only by mailing the forms to CRA;

while this option is still available

, the updated forms in ProFile grant the requests immediately upon EFILE of the return.

The updated RC59 form allows preparers to obtain instant online, phone, and mail authorization (similar to T1013 form) to client accounts. The CRA grants the authorization immediately after filing the form with the return.

The previous paper-only authorization did not include the online access, only phone and mail. The updated form automatically grants authorization for all access methods.

Note: some clients may not wish to provide online electronic access to their preparer. In this event, it is still possible to request phone and mail access only by sending the RC59 form to CRA by physical mail.

Accessing the RC59 Form

Enter the term “RC59EFILE” in the Form Explorer in ProFile.
