I understand your worries about not being able to see your entries immediately. Regarding the tags feature, an email was sent to customers notifying them that the tags feature has been discontinued, and encourage users to migrate tags to custom fields.
The ability to view or generate reports using tags will no longer be available. New customers or those with existing subscriptions who did not use tags will not have access to this feature. Refer to this article for other details: Migrate tags to custom fields FAQ.
However, this migration notice does not affect journal entries, even if they were tied to tags. The entries will remain intact in your QuickBooks Online account because they are part of your accounting records and are not dependent on tags for their existence.
You can locate these journals through the following methods:
• Run Journal report: From the Reports menu, search for "Journal ," and set the date range to include the year you want (e.g., 2025).
• Open Chart of Accounts: Look for each journal entries tied to specific transactions.
• Use the Search Bar: Enter keywords (e.g., "journal entries") or amounts, and ensure you select the correct date range.
If you are unable to locate them, check the Audit Log for deleted transactions and if any entries were accidentally deleted, you’ll need to re-enter them manually. Please reach out to your accountant to ensure accuracy.
Also ensure you have access to view all transactions, including journal entries, if your access is restricted, please reach out to the Primary Admin user of the account to update your permissions.
Please don't hesitate to leave us a response if you have other questions or concerns.
