This is not the way I want to hear your experience with QuickBooks Online has been. I know there are many differences between the Desktop and Online programs. You can Download a trial of QuickBooks Desktop. However, working with QuickBooks Desktop's Payroll add-on service requires an active payroll subscription. To have access to the Payroll module under the Employees section for the payroll forms and reports. Without the payroll subscription, you can't create paycheques, work with the payroll liabilities feature, create payroll forms, or run any payroll reports in the software.
