Is there a report I can view total salaries paid for the year?
Running Payroll with QuickBooks Online is an awesome way to stay organized when running a small business. This helps to keep everything in one place, while offering tons of helpful reports for you to analyze your finances. I'll help explain a few reports you can run in order to see the total salaries paid this year.
First, click the Reports tab on the left navigation menu, then scroll down until you see the section for Payroll Reports.
You can try using the Total Pay Report, which will show each employee's total pay by type (e.g. salary/hourly). You can customize the date-range to include data for the entire year.
You can also review the Payroll Summary Report, which will show you the pay cheques you've created, including total wages, taxes, and deductions. Again, you can adjust the date-range to show information for the year.
I recommend these two reports, but you can explore the other one's there as well as they may help you get a better grasp of your payroll info. If you're not sure what a report does, simply hover over it with your mouse, then click the small "?" icon to see a brief description of the report.
