Yearly sales report comparison

Hello,

I would like to create a graph in quickbooks on the model of the one shown in the company snapshot (here attached) but for a period of 10 or 15 years. The one that comes with the company snapshot just give the history for the past 5 years. How can I extend that? Let me know.

Hello Dan!

Thanks for joining us here in the QuickBooks community! Considering the time frame you're looking to see in the Company Snapshot, it sounds like you've been a part of the QuickBooks family for quite a long time. That's awesome and I'm glad to have you with us.

The Company Snapshot is a great way to get a quick overview of real-time information in your company file. The various graphs and fields do have some customization options, although at this time extending it beyond the years displayed is not available.

While not exactly the same, reports can be a good substitute for this situation as you can customize the dates there to see what you need. For instance, there are comparison reports in the Reports Centre that may work for you. Here's more information about customizing reports to get you started: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop

I also welcome you to submit feedback to our product development team about this. We love hear about how we can enhance the product and many of the current features are available because of suggestions from users like you. It's as simple as going to the Help menu and choosing Send Feedback Online.

Let me know if you have more questions about that!

Yearly sales report comparison

Hello Laura,

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I did not find any yearly sales report comparison. If I could see how QB built the one that is shown in the company snapshot, I could try to customize it just to add years to the chart. Let me know. Thank you.

Yearly sales report comparison

Hello again, Dan.

I love your initiative to build a chart yourself. In this case, I don't have the exact details other reports that might be being used to create the Company Snapshot, however, there are a number of income reports in the program that you can explore to see what you're able to create. I recommend running various reports and seeing what you can make. It may help to also export reports into Excel so you can combine different information if QuickBooks Desktop isn't quite giving you what you need.

I hope that helps. :)

I do not want to make something custom. Just use the same report as here attached but add years history. It should not be that complicated. I am sure I am missing something :(

I am a little disappointed since I am not trying to do something complicate. The graph already exists in QB. I just need to add a few years to it. It should be straight forward. Please help :(

Hello again ddblum,

I hear what you're saying and appreciate how this comes across as a simple task. At this time, there isn't a way to add years to the graph you've highlighted in the Company Snapshot nor is there a report that directly mirrors it. I encourage you to submit feedback about this using the steps I outlined in my original response to you. I want to make sure your voice is heard in this matter and this is a great way to do that.

Not sure why you could not get an answer to this. It's pretty simple.  Under reports, use Sales then Sales by Customer Summary.  Then Customize the report.  There is already a field being used called Name as filter.  Change that filter to your customer instead of all customers.  Use a custom date range.  Then to get subtotals by year change the Show Columns selector in the menu bar to Year.

Easy peasy.  I'm not an accountant.  Not sure why no-one would give you an answer.

I am having the same problem, not sure how a simple report is not possible???

I would also like to see more than 5 years of total income.

I did what you said here and yes it works fine, however I can't seem to have the report include other income it is only totaling sales items, so it does not match the income graph in company snapshot...Argh!
