Thanks for joining us! It's great to have you as a member of the QuickBooks family and I hope you're enjoying QuickBooks Online. The program is designed with personalized bookkeeping in mind, and I'm happy to go over the options when it comes to custom invoice numbers.
It's absolutely possible to use, and therefore print, customized invoices numbers. The first step to have this option is to turn on the custom numbering in your account and settings. Follow along with these steps.
- Select the Gear icon.
- Choose Account and settings.
- Click the Sales tab.
- Click the Sales form content section.
- Check off the Custom transaction numbers field to enable this option.
- Click Save.
Now when you go to create an invoice, you'll see that the invoice number field is editable. Change it to the number you'd like, then when you print, you should see that number there instead of the QuickBooks default. You can verify this in the Print or Preview window.
