I deleted an invoice by accident #505 How do i undelete

Hey there, lou_d4.

Thanks for dropping by the Intuit Community. I can point you in the right direction about reversing a deleted invoice.

Once you delete the transaction, the option to undo it is not an option. The good news is, the Audit Log Report will show the deleted data and will also help in creating the transaction seamlessly.

To open the report, follow these steps:

  1. In the upper right hand, click on the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Under Tools, choose Audit Log.
  3. You can use the Filter option to find the invoice.
  4. Enter the correct date and events.
  5. Choose Apply.
  6. Click on the View link to see the details.
  7. Choose the Show all option located in the upper right hand,

From there, you'll see the information entered on the invoice. Once you have them handy, recreate the transaction in QuickBooks.

This should help you get back to business in no time.

Please let me know if you have further questions. I’ll be right here to help.

Quick Books Self-Employed--there is no Tools in the Gear box.  Therefore, how do I find an invoice I think I deleted in error?

Hello OCS23,

QuickBooks Self-Employed has different options than QuickBooks Online, which is why you're not seeing the steps outlined in the previous reply on this thread. Don't worry, I'll help you make sure you have the transaction you need in your books.

In the Self-Employed version of the software, you'll be able to see each of your invoices using the Invoices tab or section of the account. If you're not seeing an invoice you're expecting there, it's likely that it got deleted. If that's the case, simply clicking Create Invoice and entering the details you need will restore the transaction to your books. Here's an article that explains in more details: Create an invoice in QuickBooks Self-Employed

If you're certain the transaction is in your account and you're not seeing it, I recommend touching base with the QuickBooks Self-Employed team to troubleshoot with one of our experts. Here's how you can reach them.

  1. Select the Assistant tool.
  2. Type and enter talk to human.
  3. Follow the prompts to connect with an agent.
