Hello cindy40,

It sounds like you're tackling adding a custom tax code to account for the tourism tax in your area. I know it can be a little tricky to figure out. Don't worry, when you're not sure, support agents like myself have your back.

How you set up the sales tax code is important. When you need the code to appear as an option on your sales forms, you'll want to make sure you're configuring it to track for sales. You can double check if you did this by going to Taxes, then Manage Sales Tax on the Sales Tax screen. In your agency sections, you should see a Tax on Sales and a Tax on Purchases column. If you're only seeing an amount in the Tax on Purchases column, the code wasn't configured for sales.

To fix this, click Make inactive on the existing code and then re-create it, making sure to check off the I collect this on sales option. Learn more about setting up codes here: How to set up a new sales tax code

If you've just set up this tax code, I recommend logging out and then logging back in to make sure that it appears on your sales forms. Sometimes when you make changes like this, our system needs a sort of refresh in order to get things in working order. If you're still having trouble, get in touch with an agent for further assistance.
