Why does converting an estimate to an invoice result in a zero balance due?

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to the QuickBooks community. I'll gladly help with converting an estimate to an invoice. QuickBooks Online is a versatile program that lets you manage your sales transactions efficiently. When creating an invoice from an estimate, the balance due is decided during the final step of the process. Here’s how:

  1. Select Sales
  2. Select Customers
  3. Select the customer you wish to work with
  4. Locate the estimate you wish to work with
  5. Under the ACTION column, select Create invoice
  6. A dialogue box with “How much do you want to invoice?” will pop up
  7. Select the option that meets your needs: Remaining total of all lines, a percentage of each line, or a custom amount for each line.
  8. Select Create invoice
  9. The invoice will show the balance due according to your choice in step 7
  10. Select Save and Close
