Hi lavoieeric1,
Making sure your customers know the outstanding balances of their accounts is helpful for both parties involved. Adding it to the end of an invoice is a great idea. In QuickBooks Online, invoices are self-contained transactions that only show figures for items directly related to them, such as a payment made toward the invoice. While you can use the Message on invoice section to manually make note of the amount on the invoice, I recommend taking a look at the Statement feature instead.
With Statements, you're able to choose between Balance Forward, Open Item (Last 365 days), and Transaction Statement. The balance forward should give you exactly what you're looking for with regards to letting the customer know the account balance, but you can explore the other options as well. The Create and manage statements article gives more information about how statements work in QuickBooks Online.
I hope that helps. I'll be here if you need anything else.
Hello
Thanks will look at the statement as a work around. Maybe something the dev team can work on adding in the future. Would definitely be a great add on to keeping customers informed.
Thanks
Eric
