How can we remove in bulk the produc/service sales tax code?
Keeping an organized list of products and services is the key to maximizing how much time you save when invoicing. Setting default tax rates is a simple and effective way to automatically assign the appropriate sales tax to your sales. This further unlocks the powerful tax tracking, ensuring you'll always have accurate tax returns. The best way to make changes to this is to update each product individually. I'll be happy to offer you an alternative solution, that I'm confident will suit your needs.
Since you simply want to remove the default tax, we can use company settings to our advantage. This is typically done if you wish to stop tracking taxes entirely, but updating the system-wide default is an efficient way to ensure you'll always get an empty Sales tax column. It's just a few easy steps:
Click on the Gear icon then select Account and Settings.
Head to Advanced and click into the Accounting section.
Update the Default tax rate selection to Out of scope of Tax.
Click Save then Done.
Selecting Out of scope of Tax here will disable tax by default on your sales. You'll still be able to apply sales tax as needed on individual invoices. As long as you select your products before changing the Amounts are field, its tax code will not be applied automatically.
