Sale tax report shows all 0.00$

Good afternoon

My client is trying to generate their GST/QST Report for the monthly payment,  but somehow, even though tthere was some sales and bill payment, the report shows all 0.00$

I am including a screen capture to show what I mean....  the accountant swear she did exactly what she always did prior to the confinement (no transaction per say in March, april and may)....  If you look at the detail of the QST/GST Payable account, we do see transactions with amounts,  but when generating the sale tax agency report,   is all 0$....  Does anybody know why ?

Sale tax report shows all 0.00$

Hi Yvesb,

QuickBooks Desktop makes it easy for you to file sales tax by calculating the amounts for you and allowing you to file your taxes in record time. It's important though that you can see the amounts in case you need to make any adjustments.  I can help with getting this working for you.

When filing sales tax, there are a few reasons it'd not show up on your sales tax report based on the screen shot you uploaded. The first reason would be that it was already filed for that time period since once you file your sales tax it will only show the total in line 101. If it was already filed you can print out a PDF of the filed sales tax by going to Sales Tax>View Prior Sales Tax Returns. From there you just need to select the Sales Tax Agency, the ending date and then click view and it will save a copy of the filed sales tax as a PDF with all the balances.

The second would be the date format on your QuickBooks Desktop and your computers. You need to make sure all computers and QuickBooks Desktop are using the same date format as the computer that the company file is located on since that can cause issues if they are not. We recommend using Month/Day/Year. You can change the format for your QuickBooks reports by going to Edit>Preferences>Reports & Graphs>Company Preferences>Format. Once you click format you will see an option for date prepared and will need to make sure that it matches your computers.

If you still run into issues, I'd suggest contacting our Desktop support team for more direct assistance. Here is a link to their hours of operation and contact information.

Have a great day!
