How can I use the Quickbooks Self Employed Program to file a GST return?

Hi blairstamant,

Making sure you're filing your sales tax on time is an integral part of running a business. I can help walk through what needs to be done.

QuickBooks Self Employed makes tracking your sales tax easy and able to find out what you spent to what you owe. At this time the only way to file your GST return would be manually as QuickBooks Self Employed only has the features to track but not file. In order to pull up the GST amounts you paid and collected you can follow these steps:

  1. Tap the gear icon.
  2. Tap Reports.
  3. Select Tax Summary.
  4. Choose a tax year and enter the email address where you'd like the report sent.

Should you need assistance with manually filing your GST return I suggest contacting an accountant as they are trained in how to do this. If you don't have an accountant you can find one in your area by going to our find an accountant page.

Hope this helped.
