How do I create an fixed price invoice with GST for payment of our services? We are paid monthly and need to submit an invoice for payment of our services.

We are independent contractors that provide service for one entity and we need to bill for our services each month. I can see how to create an invoice, but it will not let me add the GST. I have the tax set up, but it doesn't give the option in the option to add it.

Hi, @dtlfrausel.

 

Since you mentioned that you've set up the tax, let's ensure that you choose Exclusive of tax or Inclusive of tax in the "Amounts are" when creating an invoice to have the option to add GST.

 

To begin, if you've chosen out of scope in the "Amounts are" when creating an invoice, you won't have the option to add GST tax. This is because these transactions are not subject to GST as they fall outside the scope of GST/HST regulations.

 

Here's how to create invoice with GST:

 

  1. Navigate to the +New button, then select Invoice.
  2. Fill in the necessary information in the invoice.
  3. In the "Amounts are" drop-down, choose either Exclusive of tax or Inclusive of tax.

 

This will give you the option to add GST.
