How do you display sales taxes with French acronyms?

I use QB online for a company in Quebec. I want to have my invoice display the french acronyms for sales taxes (TPS/TVQ) instead of the English acronyms (GST/PST). I have tried to look at the template and that's not working. And could not update in the tax setup section.

I was told early on that my issue was that the issue was that I had created the company in English at first....so I went back and started the whole process from the ground up in French settings...and still nothing. I cannot get an invoice to display sales taxes as TPS/TVQ....

Any idea/suggestions??

How do you display sales taxes with French acronyms?

Hi Mgeze,

I'm glad to hear you've taken action towards this configuration. I remember going through this with you in the French community, and I want to make sure everything is set up correctly in your account.

As we've previously discussed, the tax codes will keep the original language in which they were activated in the Sales Tax Center. If the Tax function was enabled when the software was in French and you still see GST and QST instead of TPS and TVQ, it may be due to a browser issue. To ensure your app or browser is running the program as designed, I recommend following the troubleshooting steps in this article: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online

Another good troubleshooting step that I didn't mention before is to navigate in a private/incognito window or use a different browser compatible with QuickBooks Online. Here's an article with the list of supported browsers: System requirements for QuickBooks Online, Accountant, and QuickBooks Self-Employed

I hope this helps you get back on track. Feel free if you have more questions.

On a scale of 1 to 10 of this doesn't make sense this is a 12....

I was frustrated after I was told the first time that switching from English to French on taxes was not based on your language choice in the app but on your choice when you ordered the account.

To tell me now that after going back (for the second time) through the 4 weeks process of getting my data migrated from desktop to online...and that even if I did start the company in a French setting, my cache might have overwritten the setting to be in English is just non sense.

I have worked and launched SAAS applications for the past 10 years, your support/reply to this request is just unacceptable.

I have worked with QB for the past 20 years and I am honestly very disappointed with a poor response to a clear bug/lack of functionality for a multi-lingual basic that should be in place.

Usually, clearing cache and cookies is a good way to start troubleshooting QBO related issues.
