The tax agency detail report shows wrong number

Hello,

I am trying to report my tax to the government for this year.

There is one general journal only showed the total amount on the ITC list instead of the HST/GST amount.

Please see attached

The accurate HST should be 9.10, but the report showed the number for AP is 79.09

The tax agency detail report shows wrong number

Hi @Tryevery,

Thank you for reaching out to us in the Community space and sharing screenshots. I understand how important it is to ensure the HST amount of $9.10 appears in the Tax Agency Detail Report, especially as you prepare to report your taxes to the government. Let’s work together to resolve this and make sure everything is in order.

Before we begin, please note that the HST amount should appear in the specified report. However, in your case, only the total amount is being displayed. To ensure you get the most out of QuickBooks and maximize its functionality, it’s important to verify and update your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

Here's a step-by-step guide to walk you through the process:

Step 1: Check if you have the latest release.

Please refer to the steps below:

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Press F2 (or Ctrl+1) to open the Product Information window.
  3. Note your current version and release.

Step 2: Download and install the latest updates.

Please follow the steps below for installing it:

  1. Download the latest updates.
  2. Close your company files and QuickBooks.
  3. Open the Windows Start menu.
  4. Search for QuickBooks Desktop, right-click the icon, and select Run as administrator.

  5. On the No Company Open screen, go to the Help menu and click Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  6. Navigate to the Options tab. Select Mark All and then hit Save.
  7. Go to the Update Now tab and select the Reset Update checkbox.
  8. When you're ready, select Get Updates.

When the update is finished, close and reopen QuickBooks Desktop. To install the updates, select Install Now. When the installation finishes, please restart your computer.

Once QuickBooks Desktop is fully updated, you can rerun the report to confirm that the correct HST amount appears. However, if the report continues to display the total amount from the general journal instead of the HST amount, I recommend reaching out to our Live Support team. They can perform a thorough review of your account, identify the root cause of the issue, and provide step-by-step guidance to resolve it.

Thank you again for sharing your experience with us. It truly helps us better understand how we can support you. If you have any additional questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment below. We’re here to ensure you get the most out of our service, and we look forward to hearing from you!
