In QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP), you're unable to change your legal name in the General tax section when you already set up the automated tax payments and filings. This is to prevent your tax payments from being rejected.
To change your legal name, I suggest you contact our Live Support team. They have the special tool to unlock or help you update your legal name.
Here's how:
- Click the Help (?) icon.
- In the Assistant tab, enter Contact a human in the search bar.
- Choose Live Chat/Call me back.
- Type your concern, then click Continue.
- Select either Callback or Chat to connect with an expert.
