why after my year end of Feb 28, 2026, it's March 2. 2026 now, do I need to re set up my sales tax? It is not allowing me to file for my last fiscal year?

when I go to re set up my sales tax, there is no drop down for anything including the tax agency

Hi Beverly. You actually don’t need to reset your sales tax for the new year. QuickBooks tracks sales taxes based on your filing frequency and agency settings rather than the fiscal year. Just take a quick look at your tax settings to ensure your filing schedule and rates are still up to date for the coming year, and you’ll be good to go.

As for the issues with your inability to file or prepare your sales taxes, is this due to the dropdown lists being missing from the page? If so, a quick browser refresh or logging out and back in usually does the trick. You can also use an incognito window to bypass any stored data interference. It’s also a good idea to ensure your browser is fully updated and to add Intuit as a trusted site. Should the problem continue, contact our live support team. They can investigate your account directly to find a resolution.

Don't hesitate to reach out if you have further questions about managing your sales taxes.
