Learn what’s new and improved in the latest updates to QuickBooks Desktop 2023 and Enterprise 23.0.

We update QuickBooks regularly to give you a better experience and fix issues. These release notes explain what's new and improved.

If you have automatic updates turned on, QuickBooks will download updates for you. But you can check for updates manually at any time.



Release 10 (R10_14)- Dec, 19 2023

PayrollThe following backend changes are made to support the updates for the 2024 CA Compliance:
  • Second additional CPP/ QPP changes are added
    • Effective for pay cheques dated on and after January 1, 2024, there'll be a second rate for CPP/QPP calculated on a higher pensionable income amount
    Dental care code workflows added
    • Canada is looking to implement dental coverage for some uninsured Canadians.  To help Health Canada administer this plan, the CRA is requiring information from employers on all T4 and some T4A slips
    Tax table changes
PayrollThe following backend changes are made to support the updates for the 2024 CA Compliance:
Starting Jan 1st, 2024, a second addition to the pension plan contribution CPP/QPP will be introduced to employees working across Canada.
Canada is looking to implement dental coverage for employees around Canada. To help Health Canada administer this plan, the CRA is requiring information from employers on all T4 and some T4A slips. Employers will fill Codes between 1-5 for dental benefits.
Bill amount mismatchFixed issue where the amount doubles on bills as they are created.
Web ConnectorWeb Connector updated to R3.0.
Payroll You can now provide 401(k) retirement benefits to employees through
Guideline 401(k) from within QuickBooks Desktop. All Enhanced &
Assisted Payroll customers can access Guideline 401(k).
• Sign-in to QuickBooks Desktop as the Admin in then sign-in to Intuit
Account to be access and sign-up for Guideline 401(k) retirement
plan.
• Revamped the employee centre experience, making it easier for you to
enter required
info for your employees. 
• Updated employee info page and discovery items to help you identify
incomplete employee profiles and understand benefits of complete
employee profiles.
Inventory changes Onboard and modify item categories at scale with
Categories in Add/Edit multiple list entries, along with the
copy-paste from Excel.
Understand the value of the Categories with a new
Welcome screen.
Category Centre re-named as Category List, similar to
Item List.

Inventory

  • Manage your inventory with a new category list view. Move multiple items and use categories in Find and Select items and in reports.
    Note: Categories feature will be available for Release 3 (R3) or later only and no longer in R1.
  • View the new Expiration Status report. Filter on expiration dates of item lot or serial numbers.
