In this article, you'll learn how to print a form so the return address and the customer's address are visible through a size 10 window envelope.

To set up your forms for window envelopes

Here's how to set up your forms for window envelopes:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙, then select Custom Form Styles.
  2. Select a form, then Edit (Note: Select New style and choose a type of transaction if this is the first time you're customising a form).
  3. Select the Design tab.
  4. Select Edit Print Settings
  5. Put a check on the box before Fit printed form with pay slip in window envelope.
  6. Select Done.

The return address

To ensure your return address is visible through the window limit it to six lines. QuickBooks Online formats your return address like this:

  • Line 1: Your Company Name
  • Line 2: Address line
  • Line 3: Address line
  • Line 4: Address line
  • Line 5: Address line
  • Line 6: Address line

Follow these steps to shorten or change your return address.

  1. When your customer pays the invoice, you can record the payment by opening the invoice, selecting Receive Payment, and then entering the payment information.
  2. Select Company.
  3. Select the Pencil icon  in the Address section.
  4. Make the necessary changes.
  5. Select Done.

The customer's address

To ensure that your customer's address is visible through the window limit it to six lines. QuickBooks Online formats your customer's address like this:

  • Line 1: Customer Name (if entered in the customer's information page)
  • Line 2: Customer Company Name (if entered in the customer's information page)
  • Line 3: Address line
  • Line 4: Address line
  • Line 5: Address line
  • Line 6: Address line
Note:
  • The information in address line 5 is only included if either Customer Name or Customer Company Name is omitted. Any text on address line 6 is not included in the customer address.

Now you know how to print a form in a way that the return address and the customer's address are visible through a size 10 window envelope.
