Pay bills in QuickBooks Online

QuickBooks Online makes it easy to pay your bills and record those payments. You can record payments made by cheque, credit card, or cash.

Pay your bills

Here’s how you can pay your bills in QuickBooks Online.

  1. From your Dashboard, go to Expenses & Pay Bills.
  2. Select Pay bills.
  3. Select the account you want to pay the bill(s) from the Payment account ▼ dropdown.
    Note: If you select a bank or savings account, you can enter the Reference number.
  4. Select the Payment date.
  5. Select the bill(s) you want to pay.
    Note: Adjust the Payment or the Credit Applied amounts, if required.
  6. Select Save.

Check payment status

We can use the Audit log in case you need to see exactly when and why some of your payments were voided. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Audit log.
  2. Select the User, Date Changed, or Events ▼ dropdown to narrow the results.
  3. Check the transaction and view the reason it was voided from the History column.
