Recover your account

Still have access to the email address, user ID or phone number on file? You can get back into your account within minutes.

  1. Go to the QuickBooks Online sign-in page.
  2. Enter your Email or User ID or Phone and select Sign In.
  3. Select Sign in a different way and choose how you want to verify your identity.
Note: If you are using the QuickBooks Online Global product, select Email a code.
  4. Check your QuickBooks registered phone or email for a message from Intuit or QuickBooks.
  5. Enter the code we sent, or follow the instructions in the message. We may ask you for a little more info to make sure it’s really you.
  6. Select Continue

Didn’t get the email?

  • Check your spam or junk folders.
  • Add do_not_reply@intuit.com to your contact list.
  • Check all email addresses you might have used to sign up for your account.
  • Make sure to unblock emails from Intuit. Learn more about how to receive Intuit emails.

If you no longer have access to your email or phone number, choose the alternative way to verify your account and follow the prompts. Once you’re back into your account, you can change your email address or phone number if you need to.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your old password may still be saved in your internet browser. Remove any autofill you may have set up and try to enter your password manually. If you still can’t sign in, you’ll need to clear the data so you can use your new password. Once you’ve done this, close your browser and reopen it.

  1. From the sign in page, select Create an account.
  2. Enter your email address, phone number (optional) and any other information prompted.
Note: If an account/login has been created with your email address, you can’t create another with the same email address.
  3. Create a password, then confirm it and continue.
Tip: Make sure your password uses lower and upper case letters, special characters and numbers.
  4. Follow the steps to verify your account to get started.
