Print a journal entry report in QuickBooks Online

Learn how to print a journal entry report in QuickBooks Online.
If you use journal entries to record transactions, you can generate and print a report with a single journal entry. You can also print multiple entries in one report. To print multiple journal entries, you'll need to customise the journal report.
Print a single journal entry
Here's how to print a single journal entry:
- Select the Search icon, then select Go to transactions search.
- Select Journal Entries from the dropdown near Search.
Note: Apply additional filters as necessary. - Select Search, then select the desired Journal Entry.
- Select More, then select Transaction journal.
- If your report has opened in:
- Classic view: Select the Print icon.
- New enhanced experience: Select the Export/Print dropdown, then select Print/Save as PDF.
Note: You can modify the Report Print Settings before printing.
- Select Print.
Print multiple journal entries in one report
Here's how to print multiple journal entries on one report:
- Go to Reports (Take me there).
- Select Journal from the Find report by name dropdown.
- Make the following customisation.
- Select your preferred date range from the Report period dropdown.
- Select Filter.
- Select Transaction type from the Filter dropdown.
- Select equals from the Options dropdown.
- Select Journal Entry from the Value dropdown.
- Select General options to modify the header/footer details or number format if needed.
- Go to Columns and drag and drop columns to rearrange them as necessary. Note: If you use QuickBooks Online Advanced, select the Reorder tab to see these options. You can also remove or add columns as needed. For example:
- Uncheck Name.
- Select Customer full name, Employee, or Supplier.
- Select Save As to save the current filters.
Note: You can edit the journal report at any time. Go to Reports (Take me there) and select the Custom reports tab. - Select the Export/Print dropdown, then select Print/Save as PDF.
Note: You can modify the Report Print Settings before printing. - Select Print.
