Track the total sales for each salesperson without Class/Location tracking

You may want to track the sales of your salesperson for the month for the commission payout, but you have already used the Class/Location tracking for other purposes.

These instructions apply only if you have used the Class or Location tracking for a salesperson for another purpose.

Prerequisites

Before you can track these sales, you must add a new field for the salesperson responsible for a given invoice.

1. Go to Settings and select Custom fields.
2. Select Add field.
   Note: If this is your first time creating a custom field, select Add custom field.
3. Enter the Salesperson in the Name field.
4. Select the Data type ▼ dropdown for the type of custom field.
5. For the category, select Transaction.
6. Select the checkbox next to Invoice, but turn off Print on form.
7. Select Save.

Record the salesperson responsible for the invoice

To record the sales for the salesperson without Class/Location tracking:

1. Select + New.
2. Select Invoice.
3. Complete the invoice normally. 
4. Enter the salesperson's name responsible for the invoice in the Salesperson field. 
5. Select Save and close.

Track the total sales for each salesperson

To generate the total sales made by the salesperson for a particular period:

1. Go to Reports (Take me there) and select Standard reports.
2. Select Invoice List.
3. Select Columns, then select More Columns.
4. Under Custom Fields, select the checkbox next to Salesperson.
5. To filter the name of the individual salesperson, select Filter.
6. In the Filter section, Select the first ▼ dropdown, then select Salesperson and input the name of the salesperson.
7. Repeat ‌step 6 to retrieve the records for other salesperson.

You can filter for a specific salesperson as with any other field.
