Transfer app ownership or disconnect apps

Learn how to transfer app ownership or disconnect an app in QuickBooks Online.

If you find yourself needing to disconnect a third-party app or transfer the ownership to another user, you can quickly do this in QuickBooks. Here's how.

Note: Your data may be separately maintained by apps after transferring or disconnecting. Reach out to the app developer to manage your data rights.

How to transfer an app connection

If you'd like to continue using the app, you'll need the administrator to transfer the ownership. This allows you to take over the app connection for your company.

  1. Select Apps.
  2. Search for the app you're transferring.
  3. Select the app, then select Get App Now.
  4. Review the message details and select Connect anyway.
  5. Adjust the settings as necessary, then make sure the app is now associated with the new user ID.

How to disconnect an app

QuickBooks Online

If you'd like to disconnect an app from your company and stop the app's functionality:

  1. Select Apps.
  2. Select My Apps, then find the app you'd like to disconnect.
  3. Select the Action ▼ drop-down arrow, then select Disconnect.
  4. Complete the short questionnaire.
  5. Select Disconnect.
