GST start of tax period

It's my pleasure to have you here, @Chipndale. Let me give you insights about GST taxes in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When setting up the GST tax, you'll only need to select the tax month from the Start of tax period dropdown without the year. It's the reason why QuickBooks shows Dec 2021 to Feb 2022 as the Next return to file. The system assumes that December is still part of 2021 as December 2022 is not yet happening.

In your case, you can re-set up or edit the GST by December 2022.

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Click on Taxes at the left pane, then Edit GST.
  3. Tap on Edit settings to modify the information.
  4. When done, click Save.

You're always welcome to post again if you have additional questions regarding your taxes. I'm just a post away to help. Have a good one!
