Why do I see a GST charge for my QuickBooks Online plan?
by Intuit• Updated 2 years ago
What is happening?
The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) expanded the list of electronic services provided by non-resident suppliers subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST). As a result, Intuit Limited, providers of QuickBooks, is now a GST registered entity in Singapore.
Starting on your next bill date on or after 01 March 2020, we will be required to collect 7% GST on all QuickBooks Online subscriptions. GST charges are collected by Intuit on behalf of the government and as such, should not be considered as a price increase.
When you enter your GST registration number into QuickBooks Online, you won't be charged GST on your subscription. It will be your responsibility to determine if you need to account for GST for the use of our services. We encourage you to consult a tax advisor for assistance.
If you are registered for GST you might be able to claim back the full amount of GST when you file your GST return. For more information on how to become GST registered, visit www.iras.gov.sg
