Access

Hello All

I was given access temporarily to a client's data before formally being provided with the accountants access which is still to happen.

I accessed QB Online (I thought this was the product they had) and could only see a dashboard with zero activity in each tile. QB was also hanging badly and wondered if it was some kind out outage?! There was no sidebar with the various ledgers and report options etc. It was blank.

Anyway, support asked me to clear cache etc or try a different browser (although it was fine the day before with a different client - could this actually be the issue??). I was unable to do this at that time as the client was gone.

Some time later they texted a screengrab of the APP that they use!! Does the app speak to online version or should I be accessing on the app rather than online via QB website?? Or could it be that I have chosen, say, Online rather than Self-Employed (what error would this show??).

Is this the reason I am having an issue or is it likely to simply browser/cache issue as advised??

RB

Let's take a look and help you fix your access issue, RBROWN.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Self Employed (QBSE) are two different QuickBooks versions. The main difference is that QBO is for small businesses while QBSE is designed for independent contractors.

You'll have to make sure that you are invited as an accountant or company admin so you'll be able to access your client's company. At the same time, you can review their books, make corrections, and collaborate on any issues.

Also, ensure that you've met the specific system requirement for you to use the QuickBooks product. Regardless of what platform you're using and as long as your system is compatible, you should be able to access QuickBooks without any problems.

And since you haven't performed the troubleshooting steps, I can guide you through the process to ultimately fix everything. You can log into your QBO account using a private browser. Use the shortcut keys below:

* Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
* Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
* Safari: Command + Shift + N
* Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

This deletes cookies and browser history leaving your browser clean and easy to access any websites and error-free. Once done, double-check if it is already working fine. If it is, go to your main browser and clear the cache to fix the problem. Cached files and data can sometimes cause a webpage to reload. Also, some browsers have a setting that can cause a page to reload automatically. On the other hand, if it is still not working, you can switch to another supported browser.

However, if you're still experiencing the same issue, I recommend contacting our support team to take a look at this and investigate further. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment.

Furthermore, there are usage limits for each subscription level. To know more, go through this article for reference: Learn About Usage Limits in QuickBooks Online.
