All supplier transactions are automatically posting to creditors on the BS including intercompany transactions. How can I amend the set up of a supplier to ensure a transaction posts to an intercompany supplier account or to a third party creditor account?

Hi Tom, the system is designed to post open supplier transactions (such as bills) against the default creditors' account. You can select any account type on the 'category details' line of an expense bill.
Hi there, @Tom M3.
Thanks for reaching out to us. I have some information about amending suppliers. In QuickBooks Online, you can only use one default A/P account for your suppliers. This will be the account where you can post automatically your supplier's transactions. Thus, you'll have the option to select a default expense account for a specific supplier.
Here's how:

Many thanks for your assistance. When I go into the default expense account area this only gives the option to select expense accounts from the P&L. The intercompany invoice relates to stock purchases. When an invoice is raised the system is automatically posting the invoice to stock and against that vendor. As such there is no P&L account that is relevant to select. How do I ensure that the vendor for the intercompany points to an intercompany account and not trade creditors?

Thank you Ashleigh. How do you amend the default creditors account though. All invoices at the moment are posting incorrectly as they are not pointing at the correct default creditor account.
Hi Tom, If you go to the product and service and then edit and then go to the income account and then put it to what you want it to be in the chart of account.
Hi Ashleigh,
Would it be possible to set up a call to run through this please? I do not see any edit option when I go into product/services? Also this relates to sales and stock so I do not see how this can relate to amending where a supplier defaults to in creditors.
Thanks
Tomas
