Can I go back to my previous self employed version. Upgraded to sole trader but really don't like it?

Bank transactions not shown for this tax year. Unable to see invoices only create a new one? Any help or advice will be much appreciated. Can I just cancel the account and start again as self employed or will I lose all data such as mileage etc?

To rectify the issue about your missing bank transactions, we can perform some troubleshooting steps, MDS54. Let's work together to resolve this issue.

When switching from QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) to QuickBooks Sole Trader, there are data that you can't switch over, including invoices, tags, suppliers, and third-party app integrations. This is why you can't see your previous invoices.

To find your missing transactions, you'll need to refresh your bank connection. You can manually update the feed to grab the latest activity from your bank. Here's how:

  1. Go to Transactions.
  2. Select Bank transactions.
  3. Click Refresh.

  4. Once updated, check the Filter to adjust the date range.

If the transactions are still missing, you can check your bank connection status. If your bank connection has expired or disconnected, QuickBooks won’t be able to bring in new transactions until you reconnect and give permission again.

You can also connect your bank through a private or incognito browser. Browsers often store data from websites you visit frequently, which can sometimes cause unexpected behaviors on online platforms. To open a private window, you can use the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: Command + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Shift + Ctrl + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N

If the issue persists, I recommend reaching out to our Live Support Team. They have the tools needed to investigate the root cause of the problem and can provide assistance through screen sharing for effective navigation in QuickBooks.

In the meantime, you can manually upload your bank transactions in QuickBooks.

Furthermore, please note that if you choose to cancel your account, QBSE is no longer accessible to new users. Since you upgraded, your previous subscription was automatically canceled. As a result, you are now considered a new user and will lose your existing data.

Additionally, you can use rules to categorize bank transactions to improve the efficiency of your bookkeeping process.

Maintaining the relevance and accuracy of your financial records is our top priority. Let me know if you have any more questions about managing transactions. I'll be here to respond to your inquiries.
