Data access after subscription cancellation

Quick one, QuickBooks are telling me that after subscription cancellation, I have only 1 year to access my data, after then it will ALL be deleted, yet (other than downloaded reports) they have no way for me to keep all the relevant information, for instance all the receipts I have added to the transaction lines.

By law business data has to be kept as we all know for 7 years. Legally speaking this is a requirement that includes QuickBooks, yet they think otherwise.

(I know Xero abide by the law here and hold it for you to access for 7 years, for a fee)

Anyone else come across this issue?

Data access after subscription cancellation

Hi, Matthew.

I appreciate your feedback about the 1-year access after cancelling QuickBooks. At this time, that you can only export your data up to a maximum of one year from the cancellation date. Thus, I recommend saving or exporting them as early as possible (within a year).

I understand that you need a longer period to save or keep your data on your external storage. I'll be sure to take note of this and pass along the message to our product developers. Rest assured their working nonstop to enhance the product and deliver the best experiences for all QuickBooks uses.

For more tips about exporting your transactions and reports to Excel, you can open this link: Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.
