Hi, I can't access my phone number. How can I change the verification priority from my phone number to my email address

Hello there, awahab.

 

Looks like you're using the two-step verification feature. Please know that we're unable to change the verification priority from your phone number to your email address. This feature specifically sends to your phone number.

 

Since you can still access your email address, you can go to the sign-in help page and change or update your phone number from there. Here's how:

 

  1. Once you're in the Sign-in help page, enter your email address. We’ll send you email with a verification code. 
  2. Enter the verification code we sent or follow the instructions in the message. We may ask you for a little more info to make sure it’s really you.
  3. When prompted, reset your password or you can select Skip.
  4. Once you're back in your account, you can your phone number. You can go to this article and follow the steps under the Change sign-in information in the Intuit Account Manager section: Update or change your Intuit Account sign-in information.

     

If you want, you can turn off the two-step verification feature to not get code from your phone. Here's how:

 

  1. Complete the Email Change Request form. Note: Make sure to enter your new phone number in the Recovery Number field.
  2. Attach a copy of any of your photo ID forms.
  3. Once the file is uploaded, select Submit.
  4. Once you receive a notification that your phone number is updated, sign into your Intuit account.
  5. From the left menu, select Sign in & security.
  6. Select the 2-step verification section, then toggle the Use 2-step verification switch to off.
  7. Enter the code, then select Continue.
