I need to change the account (primary user0 to our new accountants but do not know how

Hello there, pidsnigel. To successfully change the primary admin, the person assigned to this role must transfer it to the new accountant in the Manage Users page.

 

If you're the primary admin, you can transfer the role to your accountant by following these steps:

 

  1. Head to the Gear icon, then Manage Users.
  2. Look for the user to whom you want to transfer the role. If you haven't added them, ensure to do so.
  3. In the User Type column, ensure they are listed as Company Admin. If not, select Edit to change it.
  4. Click the three dots in the Action section. Then, press Change primary admin.
  5. Pick Change primary admin again to confirm.
  6. Sign out of QuickBooks.
     

 

If you're not the primary admin, you can share the steps above with the last person assigned to this role.  

 

After completing these steps, the new company admin will receive an email invitation. They must accept the invitation for the primary admin rights to be transferred successfully. For more details, check out this article: Change the primary admin user in QuickBooks Online.

 

If the last primary admin is unavailable, you can submit a request to change or update this information.

 

As your accountant assumes the role of the new primary admin, they can generate a Profit and Loss report to gain an overview of the company's sales and expenses.
