Currently, QuickBooks Online (QBO) doesn’t offer an option to pause a subscription temporarily. However, you can cancel your account and reactivate it later when you’re ready.
To cancel your subscription, you can proceed as follows:
- Open a web browser on your computer and sign in to your QuickBooks account as the primary admin.
- Go to Settings, then Subscriptions and billing.
- In the Your Subscriptions section, select Cancel.

- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
After canceling, you'll have read-only access to your data for one year. When you're ready to pick things back up, you can resubscribe, and all your data will be available exactly as you left it.
