How can I find Article 1297595?

I can't connect to HSBC, their website refers to article 1297595 where I am to find a unique reference number field. Can anyone help with this I've wasted so much time trying to connect I'm using Firefox on an iMac, I don't know if that's the issue (although also tried on Safari) or it's an HSBC/QB issue. HELP!

I've got the steps so you can connect HSBC to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), Demiurge.

Before we start, are you getting an error when syncing HSBC to QBSE? If so, please comment below so I can check and verify it here on my end.

While waiting for your response, make sure to use supported browsers when accessing your account. Check out the System requirements for QuickBooks Online, Accountant, and QuickBooks Self-Employed link for more details.

Next, you can clear cache and cookies on your Firefox and Safari browsers. It helps refresh website preferences that might be causing issues when you use QuickBooks.

Once done, you can connect HSBC. Let me show you how:

  1. Select the profile ⚙ icon and then select Bank accounts.
  2. In the search box, enter the name or URL of your bank.
  3. Choose the right account from the list, then click Continue
  4. Enter the sign-in info you use for your bank's website.
  5. When you’re ready, click Connect securely.

If you're still unable to connect your bank, you can manually download transactions from your financial institution (FI). Then, import them using a CSV file to keep your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account updated.

Also, please know that the new Open banking connection is now available for HSBC Business Banking and Personal Banking. Feel free to read through this article: Understanding if you can upgrade your bank feeds to Open Banking for additional information.

You can also refer to the Connect bank and credit card accounts to learn how to sync your FI with QBSE.

Stay in touch with me by commenting below. I'm always right here to help ensure you're able to connect HSBC to QuickBooks.
