Since 1st AUG all transactions have had a phantom $0.20 one linked to it also have to get a SMS code to verify account each signon when before just username and password?

Let's get to the bottom of the $0.20 charge appearing on all your transactions, Hartleydx.

First, could you please tell me what kind of transactions you're seeing this charge on? If you're referring to the downloaded bank transactions from your bank, the first step is to check your bank statement to see if the $0.20 charge is officially listed there.

If you're not connected to online banking or can't find it, you can use our Look Up Your Charge tool. This can assist you in verifying the full details of the fee.

As for the SMS code when you log in, that's QuickBooks Self-Employed implementing two-step verification. It's an extra layer of security to confirm your identity and protect your account from unauthorized access. While it adds a minor step to the login process, it's a crucial way to keep your business data secure.

You can check out this article for details about the two-step verification: Secure your Intuit Account and prevent lockout with extra verification methods. While this article is for QuickBooks Online, this will also work for QuickBooks Self-Employed.
