The third party supplier of my QB online accounts program is closing their service at the end of this month (May) so I need to backup all my data and transfer it to a new QB online account paid for directly by me.
Could you let me have details how to do it please.
Glad to have you here in the Community, @Andy Elsey.
You can export your QuickBooks Online (QBO) data to your computer and import it to your new account. Let me guide you through the process.
Here's an article you can read for more details: Export reports, lists, and more.
Once done, save the data to your computer and import it to your new QBO account. Here's how:
I'm adding this article for more guidance: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.
However, if the data is coming from your third-party software, like Sage50, Xero, Kashflow, or VT, feel free to check out these articles for the detailed steps and information on how to transfer your data:
Please keep in touch if there's anything else I can do to help you succeed with QuickBooks. I've got your back. Have a great day and be safe.
If the service provider manage your account in QBO Accountant, ask them to transfer the Master Admin role to your end.
Otherwise you will need another effort to migrate the data.
Thank you for the information, I also found out Intuit acquired Chronobooks, which I also read was a great tool to do this, could you please provide some more information about how to do this using this new feature?
Intuit has acquired it last year but (unfortunately) it becomes a feature available only for QBO Advanced. You may open a new blank QBO account
then you may have 2 options:
1. Utilize a migration tool
2. Purchase a 3rd party migration service
Thank you so much for your response, we do have QBO Advanced on both of the companies. I need to migrate the information from company A, our current company into company Z, the new company. Company A will no longer exist so I need to transfer all the information in it to company Z. Do you know if this is possible with the previously discussed feature?
If not, how does that migration tool work?
Thank you for the help!
We noticed you were posting the same question in the US Community. You may reply to the latest response if required. One more thing, we recalled there was an ongoing issue with that feature in the last 2 weeks. Yet we are not sure whether the issue is already resolved or not.
I can tell you that it has not been resolved, as I have spent 15+ hours over a period of three weeks, with 2 dozen support techs racking up the hours of support, and not one person was able to tell me that this software has issues - except for a post you made on the US side a few weeks ago.
And yet, they are charging me $150 a month for the Advanced version, which we did not need if we could not transfer the files.
Hi Deb in Texas
Thanks for your post, I'm sorry to hear of the time you've spend migrating data. Please note this thread is in relation to the UK product, so if you're still needing any support for your US account please click the link here to be re-directed to their team. 🙇♀️
