As the basis period for LLP has been abolished, I need to adjust my year end from Jan to Mar. As a result my last FY will be 14 months instead of 12, how do I change QB?

I've got some steps for you to change your fiscal year in QuickBooks Online (QBO), chris434.

When changing the Fiscal Year End Date in QBO, please know that your data won't change since it will remain intact. The only affected section is the Report Dates. Thus, you can still change the fiscal year by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the right corner and choose Account and Settings.
  2. From the left side menu, choose the Advanced option.
  3. Find the Accounting section, and press the Pencil icon for you to edit.
  4. Choose the month you prefer within the First month of the financial year dropdown.
  5. Choose either the Same as the financial year or January from the First month of the tax year dropdown
  6. Click Save once you're done.
  7. Press Done so that all of the changes will be saved.

Afterward, you can print your report in case you'd like to use it outside QBO: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.
