Barclays error code 6

My client is struggling to update his account on QBSE for Barclays Personal Banking. It was working on the old system but seems to be throwing up an error (error code 6) when he tries to update for Open Banking.

 

Once he clicks on "Agree" on the section "Consent to connect for 90 days" it leads him to the Barclays log in page where he successfully logs in but is then blocked with the error code 6031 and a reference to "access level 40".

 

Can someone please advise?

Could you provide a screen shot of the error message they are getting so we can look into further for you,does this happen on multiple browsers?

Hi Emma Please find screenshot attached of one of the errors. We do not seem to be able to get the first error no. 6 The client is using the mobile app and then this is the safari browser on his ipad that QBSE opens up automatically. I have also seen this on another client of ours and we were using the Chrome browser so I don't think it is that.

I have had a look into the screenshot you have sent us, what you need to do is when trying to set upo the bank for open banking you have logged in using a memorable world so what you need to do is This error 6031-unable to step up as process requires the user to be access level 40 is telling the customer they needs to use an one time password (OTP). Barclays supports both mobile PINsentry and card reader PINsentry. If the customer does not already have this set up with Barclays they can do so easily by giving them a call.
However please advise the customer to not mention Quick Books, by mentioning ourselves the support the customer receives from Barclays is limited and the customer may not get the help they need.
QBO will NOT provide an access code for the bank.

We have tried logging in with PINsentry card reader too but still get the same error

Hi Mia, 

 

 

The pinsentry should work and resolve this you should not get the error, can I ask how are you doing this are you trying to update the account on a pc web browser or on a mobile web browser or the app?

We have tried on Chrome and also on an IPAD. Nothing seems to work

Does the client have any errors or links to Follow when on the banks website for open banking?  To allow me to look further into this issue could you reach out to us in a private post either twitter or Facebook so we can ask for emails etc connected to Quickbooks?Thanks ^Becky
