I appreciate you for using QuickBooks Online (QBO) to help you manage your financial transactions, Lyn. The entries displayed in your QuickBooks account depend on the date range you selected during the setup of your bank account. Let me add clarifications below.
Since you've connected your bank account for the first time, QuickBooks will ask for a start date. This selection is crucial, as it determines how far back QBO will pull historical transactions.
As a workaround, you can request a copy of the transactions you need from your bank and then manually upload them to your QBO account. To do this, download the transaction data from your bank's website in CSV format. Once you have the file ready, you can import these transactions into your QBO account. Here's how:
- Go to the Transactions menu, then select Bank transactions tab.
- Select the tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
- Click the Link account dropdown, then click the Upload from file.
- Hit the Drag and drop or select files and select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then, select Continue.
- In the QuickBooks account dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then, select Continue.
- Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Continue.
- Select the transactions you like to import. Then click the Continue.
- Click the Yes and Done.
Once everything goes well, consider regularly categorising your online bank transactions to help streamline your financial tracking and enhance decision-making in your business.
