I can certainly help you with this.
Can you attempt this connection using an Incognito or InPrivate browsing window on your device or computer.
Be sure to log out of any sessions on your online banking with Capital One directly on both the browser and log out completely from any banking apps and closing them also.

I have attempted to add my CapitalOne account with both Safari and Firefox in private windows with no other active sessions on any device but to no avail, I get the same error code as before.

I have researched the error code you received (102) and found out that this usually means your bank's website is experiencing technical difficulties, undergoing maintenance or there is a server issue between the bank's website and QuickBooks Online.
I have been informed that it would be best to wait at least a day before tying to update again, to give your bank time to fix any problems with their servers.

For Capital One UK, as of now, we haven't received a word from our engineers that this is a reported issue. It looks like you've done all you could to resolve this. I'd recommend contacting our phone support for further assistance. They'll be able to check what's causing the error code in the system.

As for Santander, we have a reported issue where users would encounter Error 102. Our engineers are working with the bank to resolve this. Please note that all banks have different connection servers. The issue in Santander isn't related to the one in Capital One UK.

Tried Incognito and have been able to log in successfully directly with Capital One. Been occurring for over 24hrs now.

Error 102 means that QuickBooks Online is unable to connect to your bank’s website at the moment. These errors usually fix themselves within 24 hours.
