Failed bank connection when I try and link my bank account back to quick books

We can perform some troubleshooting steps to see if this is just triggered by your bank, or in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), usertfranklin8669.

May I know what's your bank provider? This way, I can check if there's a reported case about this one. There are a few possible reasons what's causing a failed bank connection on your account. Among these are:

  • The bank recently made some changes with their security feature or connection.
  • Log in credentials set up in QBSE doesn't match with the online banking login.
  • QBSE is unable to connect to your bank's website.

Also, it could be your bank's website is undergoing maintenance or server issues. The period it gets fixed will depend on your financial institution and most of them resolve the issue within 24 hours. To check if the connection is back, try clicking on Refresh All multiple times on your Banking page. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Bank accounts under Transactions
  3. Click Refresh all

This refreshes the connection between your financial institutions and QBSE. Then, try connecting your bank account again. If the same thing happens, just manually import your bank transactions using.CSV a file. You can get this file from your bank's website. Then, categorize and edit your transactions after.

Once done, please contact our QuickBooks Self-Employed Support. They'll pull up your account in a secure environment and investigate what's causing this banking error. You may send a message via chat, call us at a time convenient to you, or we’ll get in touch with you instead. To ensure we address your concern, our representatives are available from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM on Saturdays, PST. See our support hours and types for more details about this one.

Feel free to visit our Banking page for more insights about managing your bank feeds transactions.

I'm just one click away if you need a hand with creating bank rules or any QBSE related. I'm always here to ensure your success. Have a great day ahead.
