Hello. Does anyone else have issues with the Barclays Bank feed? Ours keeps losing connection and we then have to go back to the client to reconnect...….?

Hello,

 

You could try asking the client to set up a memorable word and passcode on Barclays' site. Once they have done this, disconnect the bank in QuickBooks and reconnect - then select memorable word/passcode as the login step.

 

This may reduce the amount of times it asks for the Pinsentry.

Hi Talia

Yes, it asks every few days which is really annoying and the client is starting to think it's not great...…. It doesn't happen with Sandander, HSBC or Natwest etc accounts that some of our clients have, just seems to be Barclays......

This is due to Barclays' security - when QuickBooks attempts to login, it asks for your Pinsentry code. As this changes every time, QuickBooks does not have this and so it stops the login process. This then sends you the error message asking for you to complete secure connection.

Yes I understand what you're saying and the logic behind it but is there any way around it so we don't have to keep bothering the client.....?

I have also had this problem and tried these step, have disconnected but now cannot re-connect Barclays bank, so frustrating, any advice please?

The issue with the Barclays connection is due to the maintenance they are currently running on their site. This is stopping QuickBooks from being able to connect. This maintenance is planned to last until Monday - however as we are a third party, we are unable to guarantee this for sure. Please continue trying to refresh - once this maintenance is complete, the connection should become available.

Morning, Barclays website says the maintenance was complete yesterday.  Have tried again this morning to connect bank account, using memorable word and passcode, still getting Error 101.

I am also having problems connecting to Barclays. Barclays say it is Quickbooks and QBO say it is Barclays. I have disconnected the account and reconnected but still nothing. Will it only download from the bank once per day?

We have been advised Barclays sent out an update today advising their customers of the changes to third party applications. We are expecting an update this afternoon regarding the Barclays connection itself. It can refresh at any point in the day if you hit on update in the banking section it should pull through any updates once the connection is up and running again

I will contact Barclays as I have not received any communication.  More worryingly I am receiving conflicting info from Quickbooks on this forum, under different threads and responses to the reports I have logged.  I don't have a lot of faith in Quickbooks at the moment.  This issue is still not fixed even though I have been told it has!

We are working hard to find ways to help fix this online banking connection issue within the possible quickest time. As what my peers mentioned above, we are expecting an update from Barclays today since they have had scheduled maintenance for the last few days. Also, our Online Banking Team is actively partnering with them to have a permanent fix. 

 

If you've already contacted your bank and they told their maintenance is complete, I'd suggest manually updating your bank account. By doing so, it will help refresh the connection and sync your bank transactions into the program. Here's how: 

 

  1. Go to Banking from the left menu. 
  2. On the Banking page, select Update.
  3. When prompted, enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) credentials.
  4. Click Continue update.

If the manual update doesn't work, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online Customer Care Team. By doing so, they'll be able to investigate it further why you're still unable to download your bank transactions.

i would rather when this is fixed you send a email to all your barclays customers because im on the verge of canceling my account to tell you the truth   but im glad you have been honest so i will wait around a little longer to see if my barclays will reconnect.   i did the manual adding and its created duplicates,    its just become so stressful
