Once your account is disconnected, any uncategorized transactions from the tab, as well as older transactions from the disconnection period, won’t automatically download when you reconnect. Upon reconnection, QuickBooks retrieves up to 90 days of past transactions, depending on what your bank allows. Please not that the data isn’t lost, and you can manually upload these transactions into QuickBooks, AJ.
You can get a CSV file copy of old and missing transactions from your bank's website and then manually import or upload them into QuickBooks Online. Here's how:
- Sign in to your bank's website.
- Follow your bank's instructions to download CSV files of your transactions to your computer, as every institution has different steps.
- Ensure the date range for the download is at least one day before your earliest transaction.
- Save your transactions by downloading them to an accessible location (like your computer's desktop).
- Proceed to manually import the file by Clicking the Link account dropdown, then choose "Upload from file".
- Tap the "Select files" hyperlink and browse your CSV file.
- From the "Select a QuickBooks account for the bank file you want to upload" dropdown, choose the account you want to upload the transactions. Then Continue.
- Follow the on-screen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then hit Continue.
- Place a checkmark of the transactions you would like to import into QuickBooks. Then click Continue.
- When the import is complete, select Done.
Your next step is to review and match these transactions. Please refer to this article as your guide moving forward: Categorise online bank transactions.
