Hello there, daaelectrical.

I'll ensure that you'll be able to reconnect your HSBC bank account in QuickBooks Online.

An error 350 occurs when QuickBooks having a problem establishing a connection with the bank servers. The bank server might have been down due to scheduled maintenance or updates. Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to fix it.

First, try to log in to your bank website. If you're able to log in without any issue, you can access your QuickBooks account using an incognito window. This helps us determine if the issue is caused by your bank server or browser. Here are the shortcut keys:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N for Google Chrome
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + P  Mozilla Firefox
  • Hold Command + Shift + N for Safari

Then, let's re-authorise your bank connection. Before you disconnect your bank, ensure that there's no pending transaction on the For Review tab. This avoids duplicates when you reconnect the account. I'll show you the step-by-step process.

Step 1: Review your bank transactions:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu.
  2. Select the bank account you want to disconnect.
  3. Click the For Review tab.
  4. If you see transactions, you can follow the steps to add, review, or match the transactions on the list.

Step 2: Disconnect the bank account:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu.
  2. Select the bank account you want to disconnect.
  3. Click the Edit pencil icon, then Edit account info.
  4. Choose the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.
  5. Hit Save and close.

Step 3: Reconnect the bank account:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu.
  2. Select Add account or Link account.
  3. Follow these steps to connect the account to online banking again.

For your reference, you can check out this article for more detailed information: Open Banking connection errors. If the issue persists, you can manually upload your bank transactions into QuickBooks Online.

I've included this article to help you ensure that your bank transactions are on the correct account: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you need further assistance with connecting your bank account. I'll be here to back you up.
