Hi, my quickbooks won't connect to my bank anymore (halifax) go all the way through the process, then it says handing back to intuit and nothing happens!! please help!!

I can share several steps so you can connect your bank to QuickBooks, @cutlertobias.

May I know if you've encountered any error messages in connecting the Halifax account in QuickBooks Online (QBO)? I'd appreciate it if you can provide more info about this so I can give you an accurate resolution to resolve the issue.

In the meantime, let's connect your bank account using a private browser. Private mode prevents storing cache and cookies that might cause problems when running websites.

Here are the shortcut keys you can use:

  • Google Chrome: click Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: hit Command + Shift + N

When signed in, connect your bank again.

If your bank is connected successfully, let's go back to your regular browser and clear the cache. This will remove the stored cache or cookies to refresh your browser's background process. If the same thing happens, use another supported browser. It could be that the one you're currently using has a temporary issue with QuickBooks.

Once connected, you have to log out and log in to your account and check the Transactions menu.

Also, here's a handy article that you can open to guide you on  how to categorise the transactions downloaded from your bank or you enter into QuickBooks: Categorise transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Keep me posted if you have any other concerns about connecting your bank to QuickBooks. I'm always here to help. Have a great day ahead.
