Re: How do I add credit card interest to a credit card account?, Thanks

It's good to see you here in the Intuit Community, brenn-clinton,

I'm here to share insights on how to add credit card interest to a credit card account.

If your credit card account is connected into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, then you can just add this transactions as these entries are downloaded automatically from your bank.

If this account is not connected, then you can post this interest to the interest expense account. Here's how:

  1. Click the Plus icon at the top, then choose Expense.
  2. Select a Payee, then choose Credit Card account for the Payment account.
  3. Enter Payment date and Payment method.
  4. Under the CATEGORY column from the Category details, choose your Interest Expense account.
  5. Enter the amount of the interest charge.
  6. Click Save and close.

That's it! If there's anything else you need help with, please let me know. I'm always here to help. Have a great day!
